Belize is a religiously conservative nation, owing in part to the variety of cultures that have settled here. There is not much of a locally-driven gay scene, which means that there are no advertised gay venues. Concierges at the international hotels will certainly have suggestions, but in general there will not be any explicitly gay options.

That being said, Belize is more of a destination for romance and adventure, where you can luxuriate in lush accommodations with a lover or explore caves and deep-water diving with adrenaline-seeking pals.

Public displays of affection are frowned upon for all couples, straights included, so keep your hands to yourself and avoid the conspicuous in favor of the generic. The solitude and tranquility of the Belize geography will more than make up for the lack of public petting – we guarantee it!
