There is no Venice without a gondola! Once upon a time it was the only available transport in the city on the water. But still you can enjoy a romantic ride through the Venice channels on this ancient boat. You would better do it during the late evening hours, when there is no more gondola traffic on the water and tourist one on the streets. So you can see Venice from the water much better - it is a totally different city from that point of view.
