It is the latest in the year-long series of celebratory and community events across the country marking Family Equality Council’s 30th anniversary.

Family Weekend in Washington will bring families from across the country to the District of Columbia for a real life civics lesson on how laws and policies that affect our families are made. Parents and children will meet and talk with members of Congress about the issues that are important to our families and have an opportunity to sightsee and visit points of interest in our nation’s capital. The weekend also includes many family activities allowing children and their parents to enjoy the cultural and historic offerings of our nation’s capital.

The Festival site is located on the waterfront in Vancouver’s Vanier Park, adjacent to the downtown core. Staged in two open-ended performance tents, the productions are set against a spectacular natural backdrop of mountains, sea and city skyline.
Bard on the Beach’s 2012 season will run May 31 to September 22. The opening production on the Festival’s BMO Mainstage will be the rollicking romantic comedy THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, staged by Meg Roe. Playing in repertory with The Taming of the Shrew will be the timeless study of lust for power and moral decay, MACBETH, directed by Miles Potter. On the Douglas Campbell Studio Stage, Bard will present the perennially popular THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, directed by Johnna Wright. Alternating with that boisterous tale of Sir John Falstaff’s romantic adventures is another of Shakespeare’s compelling history plays, KING JOHN, directed by Bard Associate Artistic Director Dean Paul Gibson..
As well as the plays, Bard on the Beach offers a vibrant Village adjacent to the performance tents, where patrons can gather for one full hour before performances begin. With concession services, picnic packages, insightful free talks and the Bard Boutique, there’s always lots to do in the Village!
Updates on Bard on Beach’s upcoming Festival will be posted regularly at www.bardonthebeach.org.

June 27, 2012 - July 3, 2012SpainMadrid gay pride is the biggest gay pride in Spain and one of the biggest in Europe, attracting around 1 million people over the seven days of pride.
Madrid gay pride is the biggest gay pride in Spain and one of the biggest in Europe, attracting around 1 million people over the seven days of pride. It all starts with a huge party in Chueca district, there is a large stage with international acts and DJs. This area of town will play host to a lot of the parties throughout the event.

The main Gay Pride parade this year, will be held on Saturday 30th of June, and is the highlight of Madrid gay pride. The centre of Madrid literally comes to a standstill as a million people line the streets to watch the parade. All of the clubs and bars have their own parties and special nights. For more information on gay Madrid go to gaymadrid4u.com, and for more information on Madrid gay pride visit orgullogaymadrid.com

The gay area of Madrid is Chueca and is where you will find most of the gay bars and clubs. It is also the home of Madrid gay pride and is where the main stage is located. We recommend that you stay as close to all the action as possible, but remember this area is noisy day and night so the better the hotel you pick, the better you are going to sleep. To this end we have picked out some of the better hotels in the area for you to look at.
